Wheatley School H1N1 Pandemic Plan

The purpose of this plan is to provide an overall management plan for the influenza pandemic in order to maintain the health of students, faculty, support staff, parents and visitors. Wheatley will follow all guidelines and recommendations put forth by the Niagara Region Health department.

Anaphylaxis awareness

Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of the allergic diseases. The symptoms affect two to four body systems. The usual progress of symptoms is: itchy eyes, hives, cough, a feeling of anxiety, constricted feeling in the chest, dizziness, abdominal pain, wheezing, vomiting, weakness, loss of speech, confusion, drop in blood pressure, unconsciousness, coma and death. Its onset is so swift, that from time of exposure to death can be as short as 15 minutes.

In order to keep our students safe, we do not allow any foods that contain nuts or may come in contact with nuts during production.

Wheatley is a registered member of Anaphylaxis Canada.

Remember: Always check ingredients on packaged products.
